So I've been seeing some FNAF OC's, and it's either their Bio's don't really make too much sense, or their designs are just waaaaay too bright in their colors.

So I wanna give a few tips.

#1
NEVER LET THEIR COLORS BE TOO BRIGHT.
This is a very important step due to the fact that they could hurt peoples eyes, and because they don't need to be THAT bright... Make their colors a bit darker.
That's pretty much what I did for my Adopted FNAF OC, Paisley.
Adopted OC #112: Paisley the Parakeet by PrincessSkyler
If you look closely, the colors are dimmed down a bit, and I didn't add much of the lighter blue onto her.
So yeah.

#2
Don't take others ideas.
This is a problem in the FNAF fandom, some of them think it's okay to take ideas of OTHER peoples, or the canon animatronics, and put it on their own...
That's called stealing, guys.... Sure it's okay to take ONE idea (Canon animatronics ONLY, not others oc's), but taking practically all of them is just not only laziness, but theft....
Please avoid doing this.

#3
Try to avoid shipping them with any canon character.
As much as I hate to say it because I believe they DO, Robots unfortunately don't have feelings (Unless you give them human AU's then yeah), yet ANOTHER problem in the FNAF fandom where people will ship their OC's with Foxy...
Foxy is an Animatronic being possessed by a child's ghost, guys... Wouldn't this kind of count as pedophilia?
Though I can't stop you, but keep in mind it might ruin the OC a bit...
If you ARE going to ship them, please PLEASE don't ship them with EVERYONE, otherwise that'll make them a Mary Sue. Also make sure they aren't like a persona of yours, they're children.

#4
Don't make them too skimpy.
This is a problem with Paisley and even TOY CHICA, It's a family restaurant? So why would they wear that? In front of children?
I plan on redesigning Paisley one day if I ever come up with a way to give her a better outfit, but keep it robotic style.

#5
NEVER USE HUMAN BASES TO DRAW THEM.
It will NOT make them look like animatronics no matter HOW MUCH you play around with it... Use Robot bases or Animatronic bases, NEVER HUMAN BASES. If you do use a human base, you pretty much made the design a little bit bad, find an animatronic base or use your own drawing style to redraw them.

#6
Recolors do NOT count as OC's.
Recolors of the canon characters or ANYONE ELSES oc's are NOT OC's.... That's called theft as well, and you can get reported for that, so please do NOT do that.
If you're really damn unlucky, you can also get sued as well.
ESPECIALLY if you sell the recolors, it's called plagiarism.
So please do NOT fucking do this if ya don't wanna get in trouble.

Don't be afraid of making them look off in some way or making them look creepy.
They can look as cute (toy ones) or as broken down and gross looking (withered/ spring trap) as you want.
Unless they're "brand new" have them look busted up, dented or stained. It'll how how old they are and how long they've been there.

If I find ANYMORE helpful tips, I'll add them. If you have any, comment here! ^^
If you have a FNAF OC you want me to give a critque on (Don't worry, I'm really nice when it comes to these, and I'll even give you tips), link me! :)

another tip for chu :D

you should not use the same type of animal that a canon character is unless your oc  belongs to another establishment.
